Cruise ships bring 5,000 passengers to HCMC

Two luxury cruise ships of Costa Crociere S.p.A cruise line brought 5,000 tourists and crew members to Vietnam for a week from Friday, October 29, 2010.

According to Saigontourist Travel Service Co., the Costa Romantica anchored in Halong in the north on October 29, will cruise to Danang and then arrive in HCMC on November 2.

The second cruise ship, the Costa Classica, will also anchor in HCMC the same day for tourists to visit the city, before cruising to Tien Sa port in the central city of Danang to visit the city, Hue, and Quang Nam.

The Costa Romantica will leave from HCMC on November 3. The Costa Classica will leave Danang city one day after. Most of the guests aboard the cruise ships are from Italia, France, Spain, German, and England.

Saigontourist said the Costa Classica would return on November 15 for the HCMC – Danang leg, and November 23 on Halong-Danang – Nha Trang and HCMC route.

Saigontourist said over 45,000 cruise passengers, mostly from Europe have come to Vietnam in 2010.
