We stayed in the Sport 1 hotel for 3 nights. The rooms are basic and the fittings are all a bit old, but had everything we needed and were always clean and quite spacious. The room did have a bit of a 'damp' smell when we checked in, but that went after we left the window open for a bit. The location is great, not far from the river and right in the centre of the back-packer district. The staff were always really helpful and very friendly. If you want western-style food for breakfast you might be disappointed, but they usually have baguettes and a selection of fruits.
In all the place is basic and no-frills but for the price it is reasonable quality.

Finally, a high rise hotel in Vietnam with an elevator!
Clean, basic room was perfect on the budget. Friendly staff and great location made this a good place to spend a few days.
